Whenever I had to go on vacation, I used to feel very happy because travelling is a completely different experience. Whether it was a weekend trip or a long vacation, I used to follow some tips that were very helpful in my trip preparations. So, I thought, why not share these tips with you too?
1. Pack Light, Pack Smart
The biggest mistake I used to make was overpacking whenever I had to go somewhere. You should also carry only those things that are actually needed. Avoid carrying heavy clothes — instead, take clothes that you can use multiple times. You should roll your clothes instead of folding them because it helps increase space.
Quick Tip: You should always carry a first aid kit with you.
2. Keep Digital & Physical Copies of Important Documents
Whenever you go on a trip, always keep photocopies of your IDs, passports, tickets, hotel reservations, and any emergency contacts with you. Also, store soft copies of all these in your email or Google Drive so that you can easily access them whenever needed.
3. Research Your Destination
Before visiting any place, it’s always good to do a little research about it. If you know about the local culture, food, language, or common rituals, your journey will become more comfortable and enjoyable.
4. Book Transport & Stay in Advance
If you’re planning to visit a place that is popular among tourists, especially during peak season, then make sure to book your hotel and local transport in advance so that you don’t face any inconvenience later.
5.Always Keep Some Cash
These days, UPI payments are available almost everywhere, but in some remote areas, locals still depend on cash. Sometimes, due to network issues, digital payments can also get stuck, so it’s always better to carry some cash with you.

6. Check the Weather
Checking the weather is a simple thing, but some travellers, out of excitement, forget to do it and sometimes end up in trouble. So always pack according to the weather of your destination. Carry an umbrella if there is a chance of rain or snow.
7. Try Local Food & Talk to Locals
To understand a destination better, talk to the locals — there’s no better option for getting genuine information. You can even ask them about the local food and give it a try.
